Transmission and distribution

The area of transmission and distribution of electricity is handled  by PTPiREE through the Board of Directors on Managing of Network Assets (RDM) and Board of Directors on  Distribution (RDD), which coordinate the work of many working teams (permanent) and the commissions (temporary). The Teams and the Commissions gather the experts of the operators of distribution and transmission systems.

Wide-ranging activities in this area include:

  • security and reliable operation of the National Power System,
  • safety of electricity users
  • improving the quality of electricity customer service
  • cooperation with ministries, government agencies, universities, associations and other non-governmental institutions,
  • cooperation of all operators in order to develop uniform standards across the country.
  • analysing options for reducing the SAIDI, SAIFI and KPIs indicators in the context of the new "quality tariff"
  • developing a model of exchanging information between participants of the electricity market in Poland, meeting international standard ebIX (handling contracts, changing operators, billing, metering data) – cooperating in this field with the Ministry, the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), Energy Trading Association (TOE) and other entities,
  • developing a common Instruction on Operation and Maintenance of the Distribution Network for all operators of distribution networks - cooperating in this field with the operators of the transmission network and ERO,
  • developing a General Distributor Agreement and the Comprehensive Distribution Agreement - cooperation in this area with the regulator and the TOEE.
  • power quality and network reliability,
  • AMI and SMART GRID, NET METERING,
  • legalization of electricity meters,
  • works under voltage (live working),
  • connecting customers, electricity generators and micro-systems (RES, prosumers),
  • developing standard load profiles for tariff groups C1 and G
  • technical aspects of the network infrastructure (MV/LV power stations, transformers, cable lines and overhead lines)
  • energy losses and balance,
  • technical losses and reactive power management
  • operating power grids,
  • data exchange between SCADA systems owned by of operators of distribution and transmission systems,
  • exchanging models of daily operation between operators of distribution and transmission systems,
  • occupational health and safety of power equipment operators,
  • protection against electricity shock and power surges,
  • automated power system protection,
  • environmental protection
  • development and innovations in the EU support programs,
  • radio communication- TETRA system,
  • planning and developing network investments,
  • measures reducing an preventing the theft of network infrastructure elements,
